What’s happening now, from Camille
- The Solace Teachings has become a full-service, end-of-life training program available online and in-person. Since the pilot in 2011-2012, when it was offered to 8 communities throughout New Mexico, the curriculum has grown and matured. I have listened to over 200 participants, whose experiences, feedback and affirmations have supported the evolution of the program. My vision for the Solace Teachings Program is to help humanize end-of-life care and share the lost art of being with dying, for ourselves and with others. Recently, I helped care for my 94 year old grandmother through her dying process. The experiences within myself, my own family and with the local hospice were reminders of how important these teachings and practices are.
- I am working on a documentary and teaching series about the, often misunderstood, profession of nursing intended to stimulate meaning, resilience and personal agency by looking at what it means to be human and how strengthening our human capacity in specific ways supports a new paradigm of healing in health care.
- I have been invited to lead monthly, Songs of the Ancestors, family and systemic constellation workshops in Nashville!
